About the Author
Lizhe Tan is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University Northwest. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, in 1992. Dr. Tan has extensively taught signals and systems, digital signal processing, analog and digital control systems, and communication systems for many years. He has published a number of refereed technical articles in journals, conference papers and book chapters in the areas of digital signal processing. He has authored and co-authored 4 textbooks, and holds a US patent. Dr. Tan is a senior member of the IEEE and has served as an associate editor for several engineering journals.Jean Jiang is an associate professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at Purdue University Northwest. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, in 1992. Dr. Jiang has taught digital signal processing, control systems and communication systems for many years. She has published a number of refereed technical articles in journals, conference papers and book chapters in the area of digital signal processing, and co-authored 4 textbooks. Dr. Jiang is a senior member of the IEEE.

I bought the Kindle version when it was on a steep sale. It's been great for review, and convenient because I can read it on my tablet. The author focuses more on what things mean and how to use them than he does on proving things, which I find very convenient. For reviewing what you already know, or figuring something out for a building a real system, this book is very convenient.The one thing I was disappointed in was that I couldn't read it on my Kindle DX. Apparently this format of Kindle Book can only be read on a tablet or PC.
Very good for communication engineers.

I loved it. it came as described. I have been using it ever since and I don't have any problems.
Its a book with information that I needed for school. I'm not sure how to rate this other than it has a lot of information, it's easy to read, and it has a ton of MATLAB examples. MATLAB will help you out immensely because there are some VERY LONG calculations that MATLAB does in one command.
I bought this book brand new due to the fact that I was taking the author's DSP class. The book is VERY informative and very easy to read and provides very good examples. The only issue I had with this book is that the binding started to break down after a couple weeks of use. Other than the book binding, I cannot recommend this book highly enough!
Book was in great shape and between lecture notes and the large review appendix this is a must have for engineering classes.
